Description:

OVERVIEW:

High Voltage safety training offers practical learning on fully functional High Voltage, and Low Voltage units. Electrical Principals and Stress Utilization & Distribution are also included. Our power generation and distribution simulator directs technicians in the start-up and troubleshooting of offshore High Voltage power systems. Marine High Voltage safety Training uses online assessments to validate a candidate’s core competency to work safely in Hazardous High Voltage area.

High Voltage safety an online learning training course is designed for seafarers to be familiarize about the hazards associated with High Voltage systems and various safety requirements associated with HV Systems.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

• Understanding the differences between High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems in marine practice.

• Familiarization with the background and evolution of High Voltage (HV) systems in the marine field.

• Drawing comparisons between High Voltage and Low Voltage systems and becoming familiar with each system.

• Defining and understanding key terms associated with HV systems (based on the “Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seaman (COSWP)”).

• Familiarization with the layout and arrangement of High Voltage systems onboard and their associated protective devices.

• Understanding the arrangement of switchgear.

• Becoming familiar with the different systems of grounding.

• Familiarization with the procedures for locating ground faults and testing HV equipment.

• Understanding the hazards associated with High Voltage systems.

• Illustrating the various safety requirements associated with HV systems.
