OVERVIEW:
Deck Safety Training is designed for newly employed seafarers to be familiarization with various control measures with respect to Lifting gear, Mooring operation. The aim is to give all personnel working on the deck of an offshore platform supply vessel, the knowledge necessary to appreciate the hazards concerned and actions required to allow them to work safely at all times. Information is given on how to control the risks associated with general deck work, mooring operations, and when working both deck and bulk cargoes.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES:
1. Be familiarized with various control measures in place, to enhance work related safety and thereby minimize the possibility of accidents/ injuries.
2. Be familiarized with various control measures in place, to enhance work related safety with respect to Lifting gear.
3. Be familiarized with various control measures in place with respect to Mooring operations, with the aim of minimizing accidents/ injuries.
4. Be familiarized with various control measures in place, to enhance work related safety and thereby minimize the possibility of accidents/ injuries in the galley.
