OVERVIEW:

International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code training aims to create General Awareness and Familiarization with the IMDG Code and US CFR 49 by imparting knowledge related to hazards involved in the carriage of dangerous goods to individuals that will effectively contribute to the safe carriage of these goods at sea. It is intended for training all persons engaged in the transport of dangerous goods by sea, particularly seafarers and shore-side personnel.

 

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

1.   Understand the purpose of the IMDG Code and appreciate the need for it

2.   Be familiarized with the Classification of Dangerous goods and Marine Pollutants, as per IMDG code.

3.   Understand in general, the stowage and segregation process for carriage of Dangerous Goods and Marine Pollutants.

4.   Be familiarized with the US CFR 49 provisions with respect to IMDG cargo. ​
