OVERVIEW:

Piracy awareness training has been developed to support the crew so that they are aware of the risks and best operating procedures for the protection of the crew, cargo, and vessel. The course is intended for all members of the crew that sails in areas where there is a potential risk of pirate attacks.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

1. Be familiarized with Piracy and its effect on the Shipping industry.

2. Be able to understand the importance of joining DG registered Company/ Manning agent.

3. Be familiarized with the Self Protection measures taken on board to protect oneself from Piracy attacks.

4. Be familiarized with actions to be taken in case Pirates board the vessel.

5. Be familiarized with actions to be taken in case of Military action.

6. Be able to understand the company’s responsibility towards the crew and their family members, in case of a Piracy incident.
